The Waves Edition

Earlier in the Summer I was commissioned to make a woven wall hanging for British Airways First Class magazine, First. The piece would then be featured on the front of the magazine and there is a short film about my process and myself. It was such an honour to be asked and am so pleased with how it came out.

It took me a 3 whole solid days of weaving to complete the piece. I had a theme to work with which was ‘waves’ and so I decided to create lots of movement using Soumak (the plaits) and bound rope. I really am so pleased with how it came out and feel really pleased that this would have been seen but many many people. In First Class that is, so sadly that would count me out!
